Ask a snowbird about Estero in July and you'll hear a shrug. Ask someone who lives here full time, and the answer is different. The seasonal crowds have thinned out of Coconut Point, the Everblades trophy chase is finally over, and the calendar between the arena, the outlets, and Koreshan has quietly filled in around you. If you have been coasting on the same three restaurants and the same Sunday routine since March, this is the summer to catch up.
Here is what has actually changed within a few miles of home.
Sunday Morning Still Belongs To Koreshan
The Koreshan State Park Farmers Market runs 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sundays, year-round, with local honey, guacamole and salsas, street food, sea glass, handmade jewelry, arts and crafts, and it is pet-friendly. Park entry is included in the regular five-dollar park entrance fee, which is still the cheapest ticket in the 33928.
A few things worth knowing if you have not been in a while. The campgrounds at Koreshan have been temporarily closed since October 31, 2025, so day use is the play right now. The historic Koreshan Unity Settlement stays open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and if you have never actually wandered past the market stalls into the old boat works and printing house, this is the summer to do it. The Estero River trail is shaded, the bamboo is absurd, and manatees still show up on the quieter mornings.
Bring exact change, bring the dog, and skip the middle of the day.
Coconut Point Reshuffled While You Were Away
If you have not walked the mall between Fashion Drive and Via Venezia in a few months, the tenant map has moved on you. Here is the state of play as of last fall's reporting from Gulfshore Business:

Two spaces are still sitting empty. The former El Nido and South Fork Grille spots remain available, which is worth watching if you like to guess what a mall wants to be next.
Talbots regulars, take note. The store is relocating around the corner from its current spot on Village Shops Way and Via Venezia Street into a larger space next to Loft on Fashion Drive. Same brand, more room, easier parking.
The Restaurant Bench Is Deeper Than It Was
Coconut Point is not the only address getting new signage. Over at Estero Town Commons, Oak & Stone opened a 5,300-square-foot, 180-seat location at 10191 Estero Town Commons Place with a self-serve beer wall of more than 50 rotating taps. It is one of the few spots in town where you can pour your own flight without a bartender rolling their eyes at you. The kitchen leans into artisanal pizza, gourmet tavern fare, cocktails, and weekend brunch, with dine-in and takeout.
A few other names to keep in your rotation this summer, drawn from the local dining coverage in Estero Life Magazine:
- Divieto Ristorante on U.S. 41 is still the reliable Italian dinner reservation when you don't want to think.
- Mario's of Estero does breakfast, lunch, and dinner under one roof, which is the answer when nobody in the house can agree on what meal they are eating.
- Ted's Montana Grill at Coconut Point has been a Coconut Point staple, and the magazine's January 2026 revisit is a reminder that scratch-made American food is easy to overlook when it has been in your rearview for years.
- Poke Fusion at University Village keeps showing up in the local write-ups for a reason.
- Over at Mercato in North Naples, Bha! Bha! Persian Bistro was called out in the November 2025 dining column as one of the more notable recent additions to that lineup, if you feel like driving south for a change of scenery.
If you have been sending guests to the same three places since 2023, you have options.
Hertz Arena Has A Real Fall Lineup
The Hertz Arena calendar at 11000 Everblades Parkway has more range than it used to. The Everblades' postseason ran deep into June, and the concert side of the building picks up almost immediately after. Here is what is on the books between now and the holidays, per SeatGeek's listings:

The Everblades regular season starts back up in October. Home games against Orlando, Atlanta, South Carolina, Savannah, and Cincinnati are already on the schedule between mid-October and early December, with tickets starting around $29 to $35. Season-ticket holders already know the drill. Everyone else, this is your reminder that ECHL hockey is one of the better twenty-dollar Friday nights in Southwest Florida.
A practical note that trips up almost every first-timer at the arena. Parking is entirely cashless, on-site, and ranges from $10 to $30 depending on the event. For bigger shows, overflow parking sometimes opens on the northwest side of Miromar Outlets near the lake and I-75, with shuttles depending on the event. If the show is close to sold out, park deep and walk.
What The Village Is Doing While You Were Not Looking
Estero is still a young municipality, and the council calendar tells you where the pressure points are. The Village of Estero has recent activity worth tracking, including a Capital Improvement Plan and Eco-Historic Planning Study on the Planning, Zoning & Design Board agenda for June 16, 2026, and a Corkscrew Road Widening Phase 2 update from Lee County on June 5, 2026. If you drive Corkscrew east of I-75 daily, the widening progress is the number to watch. If you drive it west toward Koreshan, the eco-historic study is the one that matters.
None of this is glamorous. All of it changes what your commute looks like a year from now.
A Rough Summer Playbook
For the residents who want a shape to their week rather than another list:
- Sunday, 8 to 10 a.m. Koreshan market before the humidity gets serious. Grab produce and the guacamole and get out before the guided tours start at 10.
- Wednesday evening. Try one of the newer Coconut Point spots you have been walking past. SB Bar or Alba if you want to see what has replaced what.
- Friday or Saturday night, October onward. Pick an Everblades game or a concert. The building is thirty minutes from most Estero front doors.
- A weekday lunch. Poke Fusion at University Village or Mario's if the family cannot decide on a meal.
- The rainy afternoon. The Koreshan Unity Settlement's historic buildings, open 8 to 5, are one of the few places you can wander for two hours without checking your phone.
The point is not that Estero is suddenly a nightlife town. It is that the version of Estero that lived in your head from three summers ago is out of date. New restaurants have opened, a national retailer has landed, the arena calendar has real names on it, and the road maps are moving under your feet.
