From Aqualane Shores, a Saturday walk north can take in the market on Third Street South and then Cambier Park. This winter, the streets go back to their usual schedule and the park doesn't. The Third Street South Farmers Market returns to the pavement on Saturday, November 7, and the Fifth Avenue South calendar runs straight through to the Christmas Parade. Cambier Park, the green space south of Fifth, starts the season with its playground closed until summer and with two of the Naples Concert Band's six dates moved to a stage across town. Your downtown winter this year sits mostly on the streets.
Saturday Starts on the Pavement Again
From April through October, the Third Street South Farmers Market sets up in the parking lot behind Tommy Bahama. From November through May it moves onto Third Street South itself, between Broad Avenue South and 13th Avenue South. Hours are the same year-round: every Saturday from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. The Third Street South Association's events calendar marks Saturday, November 7, 2026, as the start of the winter season on the street.
The market started in 1994 and now has more than 60 independent vendors. It allows no national chains or franchises. You'll find produce, flowers and live plants, fresh seafood, artisan pastas, baked goods, roasted coffee, and dog treats. According to the City of Naples market listing, the street setup also takes in part of 12th Avenue South. The market runs every Saturday of the season except March 13, 2027, so that one week needs a different plan.
Since the market is back on the street, the walk from the south ends right in the stalls rather than in a parking lot behind the shops. The next stop is less clear than it has been in past winters.
Cambier Park Opens the Season Without Its Playground
The City of Naples park page says plainly that the Cambier Park playground is closed. The closure goes back to an inspection on October 30, 2025. City staff found the old structure past its useful life, with safety problems that repairs could not fix.
The replacement is under contract but won't be ready this season. The City's Recreation Projects page lists the milestones:
- June 17, 2026: City Council approved the project.
- July 23, 2026: The City issued the notice to proceed to Playcore Wisconsin Inc., doing business as GameTime.
- August 14, 2026: Staff received renderings of the final design.
- September 29, 2026: The contractor was still working through permits for construction equipment while the centerpiece was being manufactured.
- July 2027: Expected completion.
The centerpiece is a custom two-story Banyan Tree with a bridge and a slide. The design also includes wildlife-themed play pieces, separate activity zones for different age groups, plenty of shade, and a fully fenced layout. The City says that because every element is custom-built for Naples, construction will take longer than it would for a typical playground. In practice, the old playground is gone for the whole 2026-27 season and the new one is due to open in the heat of next summer.
The rest of the park stays open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. That includes five lighted shuffleboard courts, a bocce court, a lighted basketball court, the softball field, the covered pavilion, open lawn, and the bandshell. The Norris Community Center keeps its own shorter hours. The Arthur L. Allen Tennis Center has 12 courts and a November tournament on its schedule.
The Bandshell Is the Busy Part of the Park
With the playground closed, the bandshell is Cambier Park's main draw this season. The Fifth Avenue South entertainment calendar lists something there almost every weekend into December. The Stardust Memories Big Band plays November 9 from 7 to 9 p.m. and again December 7. The Naples Big Band plays November 15 from 2 to 4 p.m.
The Naples Concert Band's 55th season opens at the Cambier Park Bandshell on Sunday, November 1, at 2 p.m. with Italian Masterpieces and American Pride, featuring soprano Jeanie Darnell. The rest of its 2026-2027 season shows where the park's season thins out:
| Date | Time | Program | Venue |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sunday, Dec. 6, 2026 | 2 p.m. | Travel, Tradition & Timeless Holiday Favorites | Cambier Park |
| Sunday, Jan. 17, 2027 | 2 p.m. | A Musical Celebration of Heritage, Hope & Harmony | Cambier Park |
| Sunday, Feb. 21, 2027 | 5 p.m. | Landmarks & Legends | Aubrey Rogers High School |
| Sunday, Mar. 21, 2027 | 5 p.m. | Music That Celebrates, Commemorates & Delights | Aubrey Rogers High School |
| Saturday, Apr. 17, 2027 | 7 p.m. | Curtain Up! A Grand Evening of Marches & Marquees | Cambier Park |
The two concerts at Aubrey Rogers High School fall in February and March, the busiest stretch of the season. Those are also the only two that start at 5 p.m. instead of a Sunday matinee. Holiday visitors in December and January can walk to the band. Guests who come in late winter will need a car. The band's April finale returns to Cambier on a Saturday night. Every concert is free, with a suggested $10 contribution per person, and the band asks audiences to bring lawn chairs.
The lawn has one more regular use. Naples Art's Art in the Park fairs are set for Cambier Park on Saturday, November 28, 2026; Saturday, February 6, 2027; and Saturday, April 10, 2027.
Fifth Avenue South Fills the Calendar Through December
While the park is in a partial season, the street calendar runs as usual. From the Fifth Avenue South listings and the Naples Woman's Club, here is what's coming between mid-November and the Christmas Parade:
- Thursday, November 12, 6:30–9:30 p.m.: Evening on Fifth.
- Friday and Saturday, November 13–14: The Naples Woman's Club holds Gifted! Pop-Up Holiday Shopping for a Cause at its clubhouse, 570 Park St., just off Fifth Avenue. Proceeds benefit student scholarships. Friday's preview party starts at 4:30 p.m. and costs $150 on the ticketing page. Saturday's pop-up runs from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is free to enter.
- Friday, December 4, 5–10 p.m., and Saturday, December 5, 10 a.m.–10 p.m.: The Fifth Avenue South Christmas Walk. The tree lighting starts at about 6 p.m. on Friday.
- Tuesday, December 8, 6:30–8:30 p.m.: The Christmas Parade, on a route along Third Street South and Fifth Avenue South.
The parade is the one December event that uses both shopping districts at once. It also passes close to where the Saturday market sets up.
Dinner Plans on Fifth
On October 15, the Fifth Avenue South news page announced that Pazzo! Cucina Italiana would reopen on Tuesday, October 27, after a temporary closure for roof and kitchen work. The reopening falls in its 31st anniversary year. The announcement promised an updated Italian menu along with longtime favorites, and the restaurant plans to serve lunch for the first time in its history. Lunch is new for Pazzo, so check its current hours before planning a midday stop after the market.
Two other Fifth Avenue restaurants have new seasonal menus. Le Colonial, the French-Vietnamese restaurant at 457 5th Ave S, has new private dining and catering menus for holiday parties and other gatherings. Bha Bha brings back pomegranate season in November with 10 seasonal dishes and drinks, including a Pomegranate-Lacquered Fresh Salmon and a Pomegranate Martini.
Baker Park's Next Phase Is Still Out to Bid
On the Gordon River side of downtown, the City posted a solicitation in October for the Baker Park Addition and Restroom Improvements. It scheduled an optional pre-bid meeting for October 28, and bids are due December 1, 2026. The project is still in the bidding stage. Like Cambier, it's a park project on a longer timeline than the street events around it.
For the next few months, that leaves the Saturday market back on Third Street, a playground closed until July 2027, and a bandshell that hosts the Naples Concert Band through January before its February and March concerts move away.
If you're planning the season around downtown, whether that means timing visits from family, deciding which Saturdays to be in town, or thinking about how close your street is to Third and Fifth, Laurel McGarel Group is glad to talk it through. Schedule a private consultation, and we'll go over the downtown calendar and how it fits your plans for the winter.
